Hattie Plinke
Hattie Plinke is from Columbus, Ohio and grew up dancing at Dublin Dance Centre and Gymnastics. Outside of dance, Hattie enjoys hiking, spending time with her loved ones and pets, as well as listening to music and playing instruments. Hattie also loves teaching and working with children of all ages. She has taught dance classes for the ages of 3-12 years old at Dublin Dance Centre. Through teaching, Hattie has discovered her passion for education, child development, psychology, and social work.
Hattie has performed roles such as the Snow Queen in The Nutcracker and Belle in Be Our Guest at Dublin Dance Centre. Hattie has attended summer intensives and master classes with Nadia Kolda, Joyelle Weaver, Martine Clark, Griset Damas-Roche, Emily Webb, and David Ward. Growing up in a disciplined atmosphere that is the dance industry, Hattie has learned strong work ethic skills. She is and will continue to be committed to the goals that she has been set to accomplish.
Hattie has focused on using dance as a form of entertainment, education, and expression. She believes dance is not just a form of entertainment but a language and a unique form of activism. Hattie is dedicated to intertwining her love for dance with current world topics such as queer liberation, women’s rights, self-expression, and climate change. Hattie is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance at The Ohio State University and hopes to continue exploring her interest in child psychology.
Although Hattie is not completely sure what path her future holds, she is sure it will be full of human rights, social work, and lots of dancing.
